This still is the combination of our 13-gallon stainless steel milk can boiler and our 3″ stainless steel traditional pot still head to save you money and create a beautiful whiskey still that is a work of art. When we are constructing these stills, quality is of paramount importance so that you receive nothing but the highest quality pot still for whiskey on the market. The large 13-gallon still reduces the risk of boiling your wash through the column, making it ideal for use with all-grain whiskey mash, and the still head itself is engineered to allow a high volume and flavor throughout.
Not that it is possible for many, but the addition of some wooded property with access to a creek (sold separately) will bring out the most authentic distilling experience. This 13-gallon stainless steel pot still is perfectly capable of being used outdoors; heated over an open fire, using a gravity system to feed in creek water for the condenser. There is nothing quite like sitting next to your moonshine still with the sound of the creek in your ears, smell of wood smoke in your nose, and the taste of fresh white dog (unaged whiskey) on your lips. Of course, please do this only do this if you have the appropriate permitting and wish to enjoy your new whiskey still in the traditional American way!
This pot still includes:
- 13-gallon milk can boiler with 2″ clamp, gasket. and end-cap at the bottom for an optional heating element. Also includes a 1.5″ clamp, gasket, and end-cap at the top for an optional thermometer.
- Top portion of still with final product condenser
- Lower elbow with thermometer port
- Stainless steel bi-metal dial thermometer
- Two 3″ tri-clover gaskets (one will be screened)
- Two 3″ stainless steel tri-clamps
- Drain valve with gasket and clamp

Running my new still as I write this: it functions like everything you could possibly want. And it’s a work of art! The pics on the website are good, but it looks even better in my garage. A huge step up from the rig I pieced together. Plus, the customer service was great.

This still is solidly made and awesome. Plus made in America. All welds are flush and beautifully made. They are an even width and height – looks like someone painted them on! Everything fits together like a glove and is beautiful to look at as well. Nothing cheap about the construction, welds or fittings.
the still itself is thick walled stainless steel and not flimsy. You can ask them yourself about quality and wall thickness. The condenser is beautiful, works great and the fittings work well with common tubing from Home Depot or from Brew Hardware. It came quickly to Michigan in about 3 days and was meticulously packed. There was no damage, dents nor scratches on the still. Inside of the cardboard box everything was solidly packed in Styrofoam. The components were bubble wrapped in heavy plastic and solidly taped so no damage would occur during shipping. It was difficult to unwrap most of the items because of how much tape they used – which is a great benefit to not have damaged or scratched stainless steel. I just completed my vinegar run and will be performing a real spirit run in the next week or two. It worked flawlessly with the cleaning run. I have set it up to use a stainless steel electric element (2,100 watt – single phase element from Brew Hardware) and use a Gas One propane burner for a dual approach. I added a Variable Speed Motor controller (pulse width modulator) to control the juice to the electric element, which works great. This still is American made and has great support, and the company has excellent knowledge for ideas, upgrades, distilling questions plus lots of supplies. Don’t hesitate with this equipment. You will be glad you did.

I recently ordered the 13-gallon pot still from MD. Order arrived fast, and all parts were meticulously wrapped in heavy duty shrink wrap plastic and placed in protective cardboard within the cardboard box. Nice touch, all parts and the still still were in perfect condition with no scratches or dents after unpacking. I just ran the still after a vinegar run for 7 hours and it performed flawlessly. It is easy to set-up and tare down. I ran about 5 gallons of sugar wash flavored with corn at 10% ABV and produced 60% ABV off the still. Ran it all the way until I was getting 40% ABV. I am using a dual heat source with an 2,200 watt electric element and a propane burner. It is nice to use the element with a 10,000 Watt SCR Voltage Regulator Speed Control Dimmer as I can dial in the exact heat output. No leaks found and this still will be around for a lifetime as it is heavy duty😉. Great investment, great looking and excellent performance.
