Description
Most carboy-style fermenting vessels require a rubber or foam stopper to hold an airlock in place while fermentation takes place, or to seal it up while moving. We carry a variety of sizes of both solid and airlock compatible fermentation rubber stopper bungs for glass and plastic carboys.
All of our stoppers are injection molded. They are BPA-free, made out of food grade material. They provide an air-tight seal to carboys, necessary for proper fermentation.
Each has a perfect consistency as they are all injection molded.
The quality is comparable to silicone stoppers. They stick perfectly to Glass and PET, even when they are wet, however, to improve the seal between glass carboys and the stoppers is best if both are dry.
The #6.5 fermentation rubber stopper fits 3-gallon carboys. The top is 1 3/8″ and the bottom is 1 1/8″.
The #7 fermentation rubber stopper fits 5, 6 & 6.5-gallon carboys. The top is 1 7/16″ and the bottom is 1 3/16″.
The #11 fermentation rubber stopper fits 2″ openings, like beer kegs or any of the 2″ tri-clamp connections on our boilers or still towers. The stopper top is 2 1/4″ and the bottom is 1 15/16″
Maximum Temperature for use: 70 °C (158 °F).
Our bungs can be recycled as they have the plastic recycling symbol #7 . This type of plastic is fully recyclable and environmentally friendly!
(Our bungs are not drilled, the hole that will accept the airlock is injection-molded, along with the rest of the stopper. There are no imperfections or any type of drill mark on the stopper!)
