Description
Often used in rye breads (so much so that some people think of caraway when they imagine the smell of rye bread) and the Scandinavian spirit Aquavit. The seeds of Carum carvi‘s popularity in gin is often tied to Aquavit, as both are herbal spirits usually featuring some of the same botanical DNA. Closely related to cumin and coriander, caraway also has a long and storied history in distilling, culinary, and medicinal arts!
