Commonly known as sweet flag, calamus is a perennial wetland plant found growing in marshes and muddy stream banks throughout most of the north and central parts of Earth. Serving as the basis for the original calamine lotion and has been an item of trade in many cultures for centuries.
Calamus oil and flavorings have been banned since 1965 by the USDA for sale in the United States for human consumption, our calamus root is for external use only, and must only be used under the supervision of an expert qualified in the appropriate use of this substance.
