Awesome Drinks to Make for Halloween

Now that you can age your own whiskey, moonshine, and other spirits, there is no excuse to serve boring brews at your Halloween alcohol friendly party. This is especially true now that you have your own, homemade, one-of-a-kind vodka, tequila, whiskey, rum, or Scotch at your disposal.  In fact, here are some great Halloween drink recipe ideas for your brews that you and your friends will surely enjoy.

• Witches’ Brew

Your guests will surely love the bewitching taste of this drink. The ingredients in witches’ brew are vodka, sugar, water, kiwi fruit, fresh mint leaves, ginger ale, some ice cubes, and, of course, green food coloring for the creepy effect. To add to the spooky spirit, serve it in a punch bowl shaped like a cauldron and freeze some of those little plastic spiders inside your ice cubes.

• Vampire Killer

This is a strong drink that will surely enable you to withstand a vampire’s advances. Mix pepper, lemon peel, moonshine, and, of course, garlic in a covered container. Leave at room temperature to steep for 1 week. Fill a martini shaker 3/4 of the way with ice and add 1-1/2 ounces of the infused vodka; shake for at least 10-15 seconds. Add a slice of canned or pickled beet as a “bloody” garnish.

• Blood-Orange Martinis

What’s a Halloween party without blood-orange martinis? Let your friends enjoy this fun, fruity drink at your next gathering. Combine 1 cup of homemade vodka with chilled blood-orange juice, apple juice, and 1/2 cup of chilled orange liqueur. Add a drop or 2 of red food coloring for that vibrant bloody color.

You can also add a unique presentation to your Halloween alcoholic beverages for additional spookiness. Use a skull-shaped glass instead of a regular one, or, hang an IV bag above the punch bowl and serve with a syringe for a scarier effect to your victims…err… guests. You can also use some ice-filled pumpkins as chillers for your bottled drinks!
